We are a reputable and inclusive educational institution committed to providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for our students. We are currently seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team and contribute to the success of our Lower Key Stage 2 students.
Job Summary: As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the class teacher and supporting students in Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4). Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate a positive and engaging learning environment, helping students achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver lessons, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of individual students and the overall class.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students during class activities, guided reading, and independent work sessions.
- Help students develop essential literacy and numeracy skills through targeted interventions and differentiated instruction.
- Promote positive behaviour management strategies and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching resources and learning materials.
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and implementing strategies for improvement.
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or additional learning requirements, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) as necessary.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining effective communication channels.
- Attend relevant training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools).
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting, preferably within Key Stage 2.
- Familiarity with the national curriculum and an understanding of the developmental needs of Lower Key Stage 2 students.
- Ability to build rapport with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a passion for education.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proactive and flexible approach to work, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic classroom environment.
- Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and experience in supporting students with additional learning requirements would be advantageous.
