Successful candidates will be required to teach History and Religious Education across Key Stage 3 with the potential for Key Stage 4 teaching. The department has not stood still and innovation lies at the core of its practice.History is taught discretely at Key Stage Three, with a very healthy uptake at Key Stage Four and Five. The curriculum plan is determined by the Director of Learning, in conjunction with Senior Team line management.The department comprises five specialists, with a number of staff holding responsibilities for additional areas in the school. There is a strong heritage of educational visits within History, including residentials and international visits to Berlin and Russia, and also a tradition of inviting visiting practitioners into school to bring the curriculum to life for students. History is a popular subject at Dunraven, with some notable successes for students, including Oxbridge entrants in the discipline.The Religious Education DepartmentThe Religious Education at Dunraven School includes a team of three specialist teachers. It is a popular and respected department, held in high regard by students and staff alike. Results at Key Stage 4 are consistently above national averages.The Key Stage 3 curriculum is varied and challenging. The Department is committed to approaching the Study of Religion in a philosophical way.
