NG Bailey are currently seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join the
Central Finance team, leading tax activities across the group
The role will be responsible for providing strategic, technical and commercial tax advice to the g
roup and
managing the group’s
tax compliance work
.
The group has a low risk rating from its recent HMRC Business Risk Review assessment and places great importance on its approach to tax matters and its positive, open relationship with HMRC.
The role report s
into
the
Head of Central Finance
and
w
ill include exposure to the CFO
and senior stakeholders
from
around the group’s businesses.
Against the backdrop of increased compliance and regulation generally,
i
t provides a real opportunity to enhance and streamline tax activities and provide
value through
quality business support.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee employment tax policy, process and returns, supporting the payroll ,
HR
and operational
teams on employment tax matters
, including overseas deployment
Lead the group’s approach to compliance with the off-payroll working legislation and agency legislation, being a first point of contact for the group and delivering training
Oversee the preparation
and submission
of
UK
tax returns
and payments to HMRC
(VAT, Corporation Tax, Employment etc)
, unde
r
taking a detailed technical review to ensure good quality submissions are made
with external
tax compliance
support as required
Oversee the group’s tax filing and payment obligations in overseas jurisdications (namely Cyprus
and
Germany)
for
VAT and Corporation Tax
, working closely with
local advisors
and finance teams
Oversee compliance with Construction Industry Scheme regulations
Advise operational teams on import and export customs requirements to ensure compliance, and associated matters
Manage the group’s
r
esearch and development tax relief claims with external advisors
Identify opportunities for improvement in
tax compliance processes
and implement changes, obtaining buy-in as required from across the business
Manage the relationship with HMRC
and external tax advisors
Provide tax technical support for
the year end tax accounting process
Provide support for tax budgeting and forecasting
Manage
the group’s tax risk register and Senior Accouting Officer submission, taking action to mitigate tax risks identified
Manage the group’s approach to the Corporate Criminal Offence, ensuring adherence to the six guiding principles, taking action to mitigate tax risks identified
Requirements:
CTA qualified with at least 2 years post qualification experience; or
ACA
/ ACCA / CIMA qualified at
least 2 years post qualification experience
Commercial experience of employment tax (ideally some
Corporation,
VAT and international tax
knowledge
)
Excellent project management skills and experience of
leading and
implementing projects
Well organised, with the a bility to prioritise and simultaneously manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels , both internally and externally,
with
the ability to influence and gain results
Good written and
verbal skills to con

isely and accurately present information, with confidence and credibility
