Job Description SummaryEDF is in the process of acquiring GE Steam Power's nuclear activities, pending customary conditions including regulatory approvals. This M&A project will create an opportunity for Business Transformation. In a context of transformation and change at scale, the Tax team and especially the Tax Manager for Tax operation and Transfer Pricing is key to support this change and position GE Steam Power's Nuclear business for success across the globe. This business is in total covering approximately 3400 employees in 16 Countries. In relation to tax operations, the Tax Manager will be responsible for driving direct and indirect tax technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. The Tax Manager will also determine and minimize the nuclear business' tax liability with the highest integrity while complying with tax laws. In relation to transfer pricing, the Tax Manager will be responsible for defining the business model and for supporting and assisting the nuclear business with transfer pricing planning, compliance, and controversy managementJob DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:1.Tax Operation: Handles globally all wing-to-wing direct and indirect tax reporting and tax accounting processes including forecasting, tax provision and compliance.Prepare and submit quarterly IFRS tax provisionsEvaluate all current and deferred income tax balances for accuracy and valuation as well as the income tax account reconciliations to ensure they are completed in accordance with the nuclear business account reconciliation policy and best practice.Coordinate and review the quarterly estimated income tax payments, annual fillings of income tax returns of all companies of the nuclear business, along with preparation of quarterly/ annual cash tax forecastPerform assessments of tax audit risks and uncertain tax positions on a quarterly and year-end basis and prepare the tax risk reporting on a yearly basis.Prepare and complete various, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting submissions requested to the nuclear business such as tax proofs, ERT and cash tax reports2. Transfer pricing: Be a partner with the Tax and Business team to identify, initiate and implement Nuclear business transfer pricing policies on a global scale.Update, maintain and implement nuclear business transfer pricing policies on a global scale.Manage transfer pricing changes and assist in the development of new policies as new transactions are structured and new developments occur.Manage transfer pricing compliance with consistent OECD documentation, in particular the country-by-country report, Pillar II regulations, and the master and local files.
The scope of the documentation work includes managing the service provider who conducts functional analysis interviews, collecting information and data, reviewing and revising reports to ensure consistency of positions presented.Manage transfer pricing disclosure in local countries by ensuring the accuracy of the information provided and consistency with past transfer pricing positions and other transfer pricing documents.Manage the nuclear business's various local tax inspections, audits, inquiries and responses to requests from the tax authorities.Conduct research and analysis to identify changes in transfer pricing laws and developments that affect the nuclear business.Plan and negotiate transfer pricing positions with relevant government authorities under advance transfer pricing agreements, MAPs or similar programs. Qualifications/Requirements: Post graduate degree in tax law or accountingCertified Public Accountant certificate or equivalent professional license is preferredMinimum 10 years of tax experiences in tax advisory and/or major industrial businessesFluency in English (both verbal and written)Strong understanding of finance, valuation and economic conceptStrong technical expertise in and understanding of OECD and local transfer pricing laws and regulationsExcellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to extract, analyze, and review data and make appropriate recommendationsWork effectively in a team environment and partner well with people at all levels within an organizationSolid project management skills and ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projectsDesired Characteristics:Experience in similar type of work at major industry and/or Big-4 companiesStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsHands on profile and process drivenExperience working in a "matrixed" environmentAdaptable/flexible: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to work in ambiguous situationsIntegrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with othersThis position can be located in United Kingdom and FranceAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: Yes
