The Tax Accountant role is pivotal in managing tax affairs across the company's global retail operations. This position requires an experienced in Corporate tax within the retail industry who can drive initiatives and ensure compliance.Client DetailsOur client is a leading international retail company, with a global presence. Their UK headquarters are located in Watford.DescriptionCorporate & International Tax Accountant - WatfordAll aspects of corporation tax compliance (including compliance with Senior Accounting Officer legislation) for 8 UK companies and 5 branches in Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Ireland.UK tax reporting and forecasting (including current and deferred tax provisioning for UK GAAP statutory accounts purposes).Provision of support on tax planning projects (UK and international) as required.Provision of technical advice on an ad hoc basis and in response to relevant legislative changes and developments.VAT compliance and planning.ProfileA successful Corporate & International Tax Accountant should have:Accountancy/tax qualification and UK tax experience essential.Self-starter with ability to liaise and build relationships with UK and overseas colleagues as well as advisers.Experience of UK GAAP required and experience of US GAAP preferred.Experience of both direct and indirect tax compliance preferred.Job OfferA competitive salary in the range of £60,000 - £65,000 per year + up to 15% bonusThe opportunity to work in a hybrid model, with a mix of office and home workingCar allowance25 days annual leaveStaff discountFree car parkingA chance to work at the heart of global operations in the retail industry in WatfordWe encourage prospective candidates who are excited by the prospect of shaping international tax strategy in a leading retail company to apply.
