We protect company assets, both real and intangible, and ensure tax compliance with international laws. We serve as an indispensable business partner on topics requiring economic, financial and fiduciary inputs and expertise.
Why this role matters
Vonage Finance has gone through a period of rapid transformation having implemented a new ERP, upgraded billing systems along with aligning processes and procedures to our new organisational structure.
As our journey continues, we are seeking a highly motivated, experienced tax professional to support the overall multinational tax group. This professional will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of tax; US, Non-US, income tax, indirect tax (US Sales and Use and VAT), and telecommunications taxes. This position will be responsible for monthly account reconciliations, tax calculations and payment, compliance, management reporting requirements, maintaining tax fixed assets ledgers, etc.
Key responsibilities, but not limited to
Monthly reconciliation of all tax accounts including non-US payables and US Telecom Transaction Tax Accounts
Process all monthly Canadian requirements from recoding the liability and subsequently making the payments
Responsible for Canadian CFA Regulatory monthly reporting
Prepare tax filing for approximately 65 city returns.
Canada Exemption information: GST/HST registration numbers
Support the VAT Tax Exemption process.
Support the US Tax Exemption process
Prepare the quarterly UK R&D Calculation required for the quarterly tax provision
Maintain the tax Fixed Assets ledgers in Oracle
Non-US Stat & Tax Filing: Maintaining the NonUS tracker for Statutory and Compliance filings
All Balance Sheet Reconciliations as needed
What you will bring
Advanced user of sheets (Excel, Google Sheets), and comfortable with setting out models and using it for streamlining processes and driving accounting processes
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement, and adapting to new ways of working
Strong planning and problem-solving skills
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
Investigative with a robust nature, and able to challenge the Company management where appropriate
Identify opportunities for automation or improvements to processes
Ability to:
Work comfortably in a fast-paced, highly collaborative setting.
Manage multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency, while meeting deadlines.
Remain calm and composed during times of stress and uncertainty.
What is required for application
CPA with medium to Big 4 practice experience, or experience within a similar industry, such as Telecommunications, Financial Services, SaaS or Utilities industry.
5-7 years’ experience in a Tax Accounting role.
Public company experience and knowledge of IFRS & US GAAP preferred
