JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting for an Tank Rigger / Erector with extensive experience in the Oil, Gas and Chemical industry.Purpose / Role
To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent plating construction service in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures. To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule. To ensure all that all workscope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment RESPONSIBILITIESPrime duties and ResponsibilitiesSlinging materials for moving around inside and outside of tank at ground levelSlinging materials for lifting over shell onto roof (floating or fixed)Safe erection, use and dismantling of tank stagingSafe erection, use and dismantling of tank jacksSafe use of blocks, shackles, tirfors pull lifts and winches.Loading and unloading wagonsUse of rigging/ slinging techniques for handling materials, shell plates, floor plates, roof plates, Roof structuresSafe erection of all types of tank floors, shell and roofs.Fairing up of shells to achieve required verticality and roundness as defined by allowable tolerances in EN14015Use of erection aids (shims, carrots, nuts, wedges, keyways etc)Recognition and use of cranes, erection, positioning, capacities and signals.Use of mobile lifting equipment, forklifts, hydraulics.Maintaining and checking own small tools and equipmentAn understanding of the statutory lifting regulations.Prepare site for rigging and lifting operationsConduct pre-use inspections and maintain equipmentUnderstanding of development of basic lifting plansWorking to approved method statement.Safe removal of tank roofs, shell and ancillary components.Work in hazardous areas under 'permit to work' system.Working at heightsWorking in confined spaces.Must stop any work that is considered to be unsafeMust put own safety and those of colleagues firstMust start work only after assessing the risksQUALIFICATIONSEssential: Appropriate documented evidence confirming competency to perform roleBanksmanSlingerCCNSG safety passportTwo years rigging on tanks / shipbuilding or equivalent heavy engineering and construction activities
