Talent and Recruitment Officer - MiddlesbroughMy name is Annabelle Nolan, Senior HR Business Partner and Employee Relations Manager, I am looking for a Talent and Recruitment Officer to join our HR team and focus on our offshore recruitment. You will be located in our Teesside office where our main UK activities are coordinated and will be part of the wider European HR Team, working closely with the Operations Teams ensuring all recruitment needs, shore and offshore, are met.Svitzer has provided safety and support at sea since 1833. You will need to be an independent worker, who has the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with colleagues from a range of different levels.Over the past years the towage labour market has become very competitive, we face many challenges such as skills shortages and changes to legislation which can impact on our ability to recruit. We are looking for someone who has proven experience of thinking outside the box to solve problems as well as the ability to adapt to an ever-changing industry.Our employees are our most valuable asset and are at the very core of our business, the successful applicant will play a vital role in ensuring we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time, ensuring that Svitzer remains a competitive player in the towage labour market.The role mostly will be based in Middlesborough, but flexibility in terms of a hybrid working can be discussed at interview stages. There will also be heavy requirement for travel across the UK as well as internationally on occasion.Core Role ResponsibilitiesDetermining current staffing needs.Carrying out talent acquisition strategies and hiring plans.Involvement in employment branding initiatives.Perform sourcing to fill open positions and anticipate future needs.Plan and conduct recruitment and selection processes (interviews, screening calls etc.)Take steps to ensure positive candidate experience.Support onboarding of new crewmembers. Such as, first day check-in and going through non-role specific systems I.E Workday, Cintra, Wenass etc.Issue offer letters, run right to work checks, certification checks and then issue employment contracts.Working closely with the crewing department to ensure offshore recruitment needs are understood and met.Implement retention initiatives.Assist in employee retention and development.Organise and/or attend career fairs, assessment centres or other events.Analyse and offer solutions on areas for improvement.Requirements and skillsProven experience as Talent or Recruitment officer or fast paced recruitment roleExperience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employment branding.Understanding of all selection methods and techniques.Understanding/knowledge of offshore workforces and recruitment would be beneficial.Proficient in the use of social media and job boards.Willingness to understand the duties and competencies of different roles.Excellent communicator.Well-organised.Degree educated or equivalent/relevant qualification beneficial.In return we offer the following benefits:Competitive Benefits Package to be discussed at interview.Salary £30k-£35k DOE.If you are interested in applying for this unique opportunity, please apply via our website by latest 15th May 2024.
