Do you enjoy the world of finance change? Would you like to work with an award-winning investment management business as it embarks on a finance transformation journey? AJ Bell could have just the opportunity for you.We are looking for a talented, inquisitive individual with a positive mindset to join our high performing team as a Systems Accountant.Reporting to the Finance System Project Manager, you will play an integral role in the project team tasked with delivering a finance system implementation together with supporting process improvements. Working closely with the business process owners and their teams, you will draw upon your process improvement experience and knowledge of best practices to help develop new processes which optimise the technology being deployed. You’ll have keen analytical skills, able to identify and solve business problems and, even if you don’t immediately have the answer, your relationship-building skills and naturally inquiring mind will help you get to the right solution. It’s a given that you’ll have strong oral and written communication skills, which you will use when sharing your suggestions for “what good likes like,” with stakeholders, process owners and end users alike.Although you won’t need to have managed complex projects, you may have been attached to a project workstream or been a key team member in the delivery of a change project. Your experience will have provided you an understanding of project methodologies and the importance of prioritising competing priorities, maintaining a good attention to detail, working to tight deadlines and communicating effectively with your team colleagues; we know projects don’t always proceed as we’d like so you’ll be sufficiently confident to escalate problems as you encounter them.Ideally you will already have a good understanding of finance processes and controls and, in particular, have prior experience with Accounts Payable processes.
