System Engineer

Job DescriptionFPG is looking for a System Engineer to join an organization committed to driving innovation of wireless technologies. This role is ideal for System Engineers with strong hands-on experience with networking technologies (configuring switches, firewalls etc)Responsibilities include:Gathering, understanding, and documenting system needs and constraints from stakeholders, defining both functional and non-functional requirements.Leading the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.Proactively ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability through continuous improvement efforts.Collaborating, coaching, and fostering relationships with stakeholders.Ensuring network security and performance by monitoring and analyzing network traffic, identifying issues, and implementing solutions.Supporting and participating in the design of information and operational support systems.Reporting on testing and diagnostics of IT systems to identify potential problems.Managing security, backup, and redundancy strategies.Key criteria for the role include:Experience with VMware (private cloud), Windows/Linux, and Openstack.Hands on experience with configuring switches (Cisco/Dell), and Firewalls (Palo Alto), creating servers, onboarding software management platforms.Experience in designing and operating IT infrastructure.Proficiency in network design and management, including setup, administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Expertise in information security, with a focus on securing networks and systems.Skills in system integration and build, including planning, implementation, and control of activities to synthesize system components into operational systems.Ability to translate strategies into technical solutions as part of solution architecture, ensuring alignment with business interests and requirements.
