Job Description: Switchboard Operator at Canopy by Hilton London City
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Switchboard Operator to join the opening team at Canopy by Hilton London City.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the Switchboard Operator will manage our hotel switchboard and handle all internal and external calls in an enthusiastic and efficient manner. You will provide positive service with keen attention to detail and thorough knowledge of hotel operations. Proficiency in Hilton Brand Standards and our Property Management System is required, along with a keen interest in the neighborhood and local attractions to share with our guests. Your role is key to maximizing guest satisfaction, as measured through SALT and TripAdvisor.
Our hotel is a short walk away from Tower Bridge and the capitals best markets, historic landmarks, and museums. Explore the city on our complimentary Canopy Bikes or walk two minutes to Aldgate Underground Station.

Role Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming guest calls and inquiries in line with Canopy Brand standards.
- Experience with Property Management Systems (ONQ experience desirable).
- Implement time management and problem-solving plans to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Display enthusiasm, energy, and positive vibes while adhering to company ethics and values.
- Coordinate the requirements of both external and internal needs (VIP reports, room inspections, amenities, welcome letters, welcome gifts, etc.).
- Monitor calls, guest messages, and inquiries consistently.
- Act on guest feedback to continuously improve experiences, updating guest feedback and preferences in CRM profiles.
- Promote and nurture positive relationships in the local area to strengthen our market position.
- Seek opportunities to surprise and delight guests.
- Be fully knowledgeable of daily hotel results and events (occupancy, average room rate, TripAdvisor ranking, reviews, groups in-house, media, influencers, and other VIPs).
- Ensure compliance with all standards and procedures, including relevant Brand Standards across departments.
- Serve as a role model by demonstrating appropriate behaviors and a positive can-do attitude.
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
