The Sustainability Group offers a wide range of transformational sustainability skills to our clients and projects at corporate, national, regional, city, infrastructure, masterplan, building and product scale and leads F+P CSER work. You will work from the London office to lead ESG assignments and projects. You will focus on practical and evidence-based solutions that deliver transformational outcomes. You will support and report to the Leader of the Sustainability Strategy and Governance team within the Sustainability Group and ultimately to Head of Sustainability.Role DefinitionJob title: Sustainability Consultant (ESG)Reporting to: Leader of the Sustainability Strategy and Governance teamResponsibilitiesDevelopment and management of ESG strategy and standards for clientsApplication of clients ESG strategy to operational programs and projectsBaseline evaluation and leadership of futures workshops and the like to create shared and implementation focussed ESG vision.To develop and recommend approaches for environmental action on climate risk, decarbonization, net zero, renewable energy, carbon offsetting and climate disclosure.To develop and recommend approaches for social action on equity, diversity and inclusion, community impact, health, wellbeing, and productivityTo develop and recommend governance frameworks in support of effective corporate action and project delivery.To work with clients to develop guidance and briefs to support implementation of their ESG approach.To design and deliver workshops, consultations and seminars guiding integrated teams through complex sustainability issues and changes in behaviour to improve project outcomesAssisting to develop the sustainability group, its capabilities and project inputsResponsibility for the capacity building of F+P staff with regards to sustainability in projectsTo raise the external profile of Foster + Partners in the above issuesTo cultivate mutually beneficial links with clients and other industry collaborators and organisationsTo conduct continuing research into techniques to improve the approachTo produce, reports, presentations, technical information, prototypes, digital and physical models to support the responsibilitiesTo monitor progress on projects against the Foster + Partners Responsibility Framework andfocus improvementsThorough knowledge of and compliance with F+P procedures and standardsTo contribute, or otherwise assist, as requiredContribute, or otherwise assist, as requiredEquity, diversity & inclusion (EDI) is a core priority. To support and champion the embedding of this focus as a collective workforce responsibility, EDI should be integrated, where relevant, into all workstreams.Thorough knowledge of and compliance with F+P procedures and standardsQualities and Skills requiredHaving proven organisational, leadership and management skillsClient facing in the development and leadership of ESG strategiesClient facing in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues and workflowsAble to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilitiesClient facing in Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility and EnvironmentalManagementImplementing effective cost and value conscience programs for sustainable design and actionExcellent advocacy and presentation skills, oral, diagrammatic and writtenClearly communicate complex technical information in a non-technical mannerBuilding networks for effective and impactful relationships at all levels, internally and externallyUnderstanding of branding issues, consumer and customer behaviourDelivering corporate capacity building, learning and similar initiativesAbility to lead the training of other members on the teamUnderstanding of LEED and similar assessment methodologiesHaving Accredited status of a relevant Certifying body Legally able to work in the country in which the position is basedExcellent organisational skillsAble to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential informationSelf motivated and able to take responsibilityAble to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasksGood interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective teamAble to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externallyResilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively underpressure.Able to work as part of an effective team assisting and supporting team membersThis description reflects the core activities of the role but is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties within the group/department may be required in addition to changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time.
