This is a fixed term opportunity for up to 12 months.
The salary is £35,700 - £42,000 dependent upon skills and experience.
Location is flexible – West Cumbria, Warrington London or Oxfordshire. Hybrid working is available with 40% of time in an NDA office.

The Role:
Together with the Chief Sustainability Officer and Sustainability Manager, you will form a formidable team based on trust and respect who will be the engine of change towards sustainability within the NDA group. You will ensure that we work to deliver our mission with care for our people, communities, and the environment as committed in the Energy Act and the NDA Strategy 4.
You will be leading on the delivery of some key aspects of the NDA group sustainability strategy (e.g. the NDA group approach to climate resilience).
Key Accountabilities:
Co-ordination and leadership
Lead the Sustainability Next Generation across the NDA group, with a keen eye on impact and prioritisation of activities that drives a culture of sustainability leadership.
Lead and coordinate the approach to climate resilience for the NDA and NDA group in line with growing requirements from government, regulators as well as society.
Provide timely support to the Chief Sustainability Officer and Sustainability Manager.
Ensure the smooth organisation of internal and external meetings and events.
Develop, plan and support the delivery of annual sustainability targets in an often-complex environment.
Thought leadership in specialist areas.
Undertaking general administration tasks within the Sustainability team.
Using technical knowledge to influence behaviour change and support our people.
Internal and external engagement; Communications
Empower colleagues and senior leaders at events, workshops and other meetings to live and breathe the Sustainability vision, strategy and NDA mission, values and behaviours
Use and further develop communication tools to engage with colleagues, noting different locations and virtual considerations
Support internal awareness raising of the sustainability agenda
Developing, running, and analysing the success of internal campaignsthat support the growth of the sustainability agenda
Being an ambassador for the NDA and the wider industry, at external events; including conferences, university lectures, and other industry meetings
Engaging with external organisations to strengthen the organisation’s position
Own and lead a vibrant and enriching debate of Sustainability within the NDA group
Works with cross departmental representatives with NDA to embed sustainability within their functions (e.g. sanction, HR, supply chain, communications, strategy, finance etc.)
Supports engagement externally (e.g. YGN, NIA, DESNZ).
Research and Development
Support production of reports looking at national and local trends and industry specific innovations and developments
Drive ambitious plans working with colleagues across the business with insights and recommendations to transform the organisation
Lead the programme work with the Next Generation representatives from the NDA group, being responsible for the budget allocation and expenditure
Support effective delivery of the technology programmes including reviewing and input towards investments (e.g. PhDs, horizon scanning)
Supports budgets for NDA sustainability and wider group requirements
Supports engagement with regulators and exploring the emerging world of regulation in sustainability
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Experience or qualification in the field of climate resilience, with knowledge on emerging trends and requirements
Ability to implement impact strategies and collaborative team-working skills
Shares and demonstrates the NDA values of, respect, openness, collaboration, performance and creativity
Degree or equivalent, with experience in managing and coordinating work across numerous functions/ disciplines
Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and listening
Excellent planning, coordination, organisational and follow-up skills
Excellent stakeholder engagementskills
Experience in Project Management
Strong attention to detail, without losing sight of the big picture
Passion for sustainability and the UNs' sustainable development goals (SDGs)
Ability to efficiently research and produce reports and presentations
Experience in complying with operating practices and procedures, or well defined policies
