Planning and Development Surveyor
South West Norse is part of the Norse Group, a national, award-winning property consultancy delivering high profile, and inspiring developments to a range of public and private sector clients.
We are delighted to be able to recruit a new Planning and Development Surveyor into the team ideally on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
South West Norse adopts modern working practices. We have a refreshed and modern open plan office on the outskirts of Exeter with very good access off the M5 corridor making for an easy commute. Equally we employ an agile and flexible working strategy allowing staff to work some days at home and flex their working patterns to accommodate such things as your children’s sports days.
The Role:
Our planning and development surveyors play a critical role for our Joint Venture Partner – identifying, promoting, and delivering the development potential of surplus and potentially surplus assets and adding significant value before the assets are sold to generate much needed capital receipts.
You will not simply be a project manager commissioning and co-ordinating reports produced by others. You will be very much ‘hands on’ leading public consultation exercises; drafting planning applications; design and access statements; producing feasibility reports and viability appraisals; representing clients at planning committee meetings and at appeal; negotiating and agreeing S.106 Agreements etc.
Our Successful Candidate:
Whilst we are ideally looking for a more experienced Development Surveyor with at least 5 years PQE, we are also dedicated to offering career development opportunities for the right candidate.
Additional Requirements:
Ideally, you will hold a Professional Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or be a Member of Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI), however we would be willing to support the right candidate through this process, so this is not essential.
Our Offer:
We offer a competitive salary and rewards package including pension, sickness and private healthcare options, as well as the cycle to work scheme, and more. We also have a robust career development culture, where you will have the opportunity to obtain profession qualifications and receive ongoing support to achieve your career goals.
Please read the attached job description and person specification to ensure you meet the criteria for the role before applying.
An enhanced DBS check will be required for our successful candidate, payment will be met by the employer. Please click here for details of our DBS policy relating to the recruitment of ex-offenders.
We are committed to employment practices and behaviours which encourage diversity, promote equality of treatment and eliminate unlawful and or unfair discrimination.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy once we have received sufficient applications. If you have not been contacted within two weeks of the closing date, please assume that your application has not been successful and will not be progressed to the next stage.
