The Surgical Specialist Pharmacist for Weston General Hospital is an important part of the team managing the services at Weston General Hospital, within the wider UHBW.Maintain and develop clinical pharmacy services to the Surgical Division including pre-op clinics, theatres and other medical wards at Weston General Hospital.Liaise with the relevant senior pharmacy, medical and nursing staff so as to promote safe and effective use of medicines within the Surgical divisionProvide information and support to the Surgical Division on drug usage and expenditure and work with senior clinicians in the directorate to maximise clinical effectiveness of medicines used and minimise cost.Develop, with senior clinicians in the directorate, a robust medicines related audit programme.Participate in the training of pharmacists, trainee pharmacists, undergraduate pharmacists and other pharmacy and NHS staff.University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, bringing together a combined workforce of over 13,000 staff and over 100 different clinical services across 10 different sites, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England.
