Surgical Pre-Operative Assessment NurseThe Harley Medical Group are currently looking for a proactive nurse who is able to work in and across teams, while also being able to work independently. This is a full time, permanent role working 40 hours per week including weekend shifts.Role purpose:To lead and manage the Pre-assessment and Post-operative patient pathway for cosmetic patients ultimately ensuring patient safety.Duties & Responsibilities include but not limited to:To work as an autonomous practitioner with specialist skills in cosmetic surgery, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care within policies and protocols.Supporting the Lead Nurse in clinical aspectsDemonstrate clinical excellence within the cosmetic outpatient specialityTo act as the named nurse to clinic cosmetics patientsTo undertake a nursing assessment, obtaining a detailed past medical history, and the management of appropriate clinical investigations, and any other necessary referralsImplement intervention based on the results of the assessment and investigationsUndertake infection/prevention and control screening according to infection control policyTo review patients post operatively including wound care managementAssist consultants during clinics and minor op proceduresMaintain accurate patient records, completing documentation to ensure seamless multidisciplinary communicationParticipate in continuous clinical audit ensuring compliance and an excellent standard of clinical governanceManagement of Patient Safety Incidents with the support of the Manager and Clinical Services DepartmentAttend and participate in staff meetingsParticipate in the company Out of Hours serviceTo support the wider nursing team when the need arises, travel to other clinics may be requiredQualifications / Skills & Knowledge / Qualities:Registered Nurse1 year post registration experience in a surgical environment essentialPhlebotomy skillsAbility to work confidently unsupervisedGood understanding of CQC and governance compliance activitiesReasonable IT skillsMaintains personal and professional developmentBenefits:Competitive Salary5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidaysUp to 65% discount on productsFree Laser Hair RemovalUp to 70% discount on treatments in clinicFree treatment days in the officeAccess to Perkbox, that hosts hundreds of online discounts for retail, holiday and utilitiesFriends and Family discounts up to 50% for treatments in clinicsRefer a Friend Bonus schemesLong Service AwardsCompany Pension (5% employee / 3% employer)About us:The Harley Medical Group is the UK's leading authority on cosmetic surgery with more than 35 years' experience in delivering the highest levels of patient care.
