Connect Appointments are seeking TWO experienced full-time Supported Housing Officers and ONE part-time to join our client's existing team.

Operating since 1973 our client has provided support, housing, healthcare and more for the North East's most vulnerable people.

You will join this valuable team and help support the Housing Manager provide intensive housing management, and practical support services to vulnerable residents with a range of needs. Supporting every resident to get to a better place and secure the best possible outcomes for them in
terms of accommodation, employment, training, qualifications, and general well-being.

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • To provide intensive housing management and practical support services to our client's residents, ensuring that the day to day needs of individual residents are met
  • To be responsible for the collection and accurate recording of weekly charge payments from residents
  • To ensure residents comply with the terms of their residency agreements (be they licences or tenancies). Ensure any breach of the agreement is fully recorded and appropriate action taken in line with our stated policies and procedures
  • To carry out regular health and safety inspections of the property to include periodic checks of systems and equipment where required by regulation, maintaining clear and accurate records and arrange any remedial action to maintain required standards.
  • To observe the Company lone working policies and procedures at all times ensuring your own personal safety
  • To help residents make claims for any welfare benefits they may be entitled to
  • To provide residents with ongoing, planned programmes of support to lead them towards specific goals and improve their independence
  • To build and maintain good links with other service providers
  • To attend team meetings and any training courses that may be deemed necessary
  • Any other suitable duties as decided upon by the Housing Manager or Head of Housing

To be successful within this role, you will ideally have the following skills, traits and experience:

  • Full clean driving licence and there is a potential need to travel around the area
  • Please note this role is conditional on a clear DBS check
  • Competent in using IT systems for record keeping and seeking information
  • Empathy
  • Communication and listening skills

What's on offer?

  • An annual salary of £23,400 pro rata
  • Full-time role: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm - with an early Friday finish
  • Part-time role: 20 hours per week, flexible working
