(THIS IS NOT A SUPPORT WORKER ROLE) Are you a support worker who is looking at making the transition into a school post?
At Axcis Education we are looking for support workers to join our supply of teaching assistants in a local Special Educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school in Exeter. We are in need of a support worker who is compassionate, understanding, patient then this can be the role for you. Skills in the health and social care industry are often heavily transferable and useful in SEND schools, whether you have experience with children or young adults with SEND. This is a full-time role, starting ASAP. Business insurance is desirable but not essential. Drivers are desirable but not essential.
You will be working with vulnerable young people in schools or alternative provision settings. The children have a range of needs including challenging behaviours, SEMH, complex needs. These schools aims to help support the children develop their social skills, confidence, resilience, and life, making sure they’re prepared for adulthood.
Experience in any of the following whether that is professional or personally, is required: - Autism
- ADHD
- Social Emotional Mental Health
- Challenging Behaviour
- Cerebral Palsy
- Complex Needs
- PMLD
- Severe Learning Difficulties
