I am recruiting a number of CARING and PASSIONATE Support Workers to join a Residential Service for Young Adults with Learning Disabilities and complex needs. The service, which is located in Bristol, City Centre, supports adults aged 18+ The service is looking for candidates with a caring nature and the ability to have fun and engage with the people they support.
***You do not need to have experience in the care sector, we can support and train you on your journey***
Job Title: Support Worker
Salary: £22,880 - £24,960 + £1500 Welcome Bonus
Location: Bristol (BS6 postcode)
Hours: Full time / 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for the following:

  • You will be working 1:1 with a resident on each shift.
  • You will have the freedom to plan their day in line with their choices and wishes, enabling them to be as independent as possible, seeing them thrive and enjoy making memories
  • You will be providing personal care to residents as well as supporting them in a wide range of learning, development, and social activities including arts and crafts, cookery, music, gardening, swimming, shopping trips, and fun social occasions.
  • We are looking for pro-active individuals who can demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a person-centred approach to supporting our young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the service users.
  • Following care plans for each individual.
  • Taking service users out into the community.
  • Participating in activities such as arts, crafts, gardening, and day trips.


Requirements:

  • No experience is required.
  • Motivated to learn and to go the extra mile
  • Ability to guide and encourage supportive independence when possible
  • Exceptional communication skills, empathy, and understanding
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
  • An active approach to the role
