Description
Five Education is working with a special school to recruit a Behaviour Specialist Support Worker. The school places importance on helping students achieve their potential through creative and active curriculums to inspire and motivate them. Pupils in the school range from 7 to 19 years old and have a range of SEND needs such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
Experience and knowledge working with young people who have complex needs or display challenging behaviour is preferred. The perfect candidate will have a proactive, patient and resilient attitude.
Main Responsibilities
- Support 1:1 with identified pupils in class and around the school
- Work under the guidance of the class teacher to enable students to access the curriculum and possibly tailor tasks to their ability levels
- Guide pupils when they are struggling and help them to become regulated and calm
- Work with the class teacher and SENCO to create a positive learning environment
Essential Criteria
- Have an interest in supporting children/young people
- Right to work in the UK (Valid Visa)
- Relevant references and DBS/police checks if necessary
- Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), 8:30-16:30
