Copello have partnered with a leading defence organisation in the recruitment of a Supplier Development Manager to be based in either Hertfordshire or Greater Manchester.



This position provides an exceptional chance to contribute to the efficient management of supplier performance, capability, and risk. You will have the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and collaborate with a committed team of experts.



Responsibilities include:





  • Influence the evolution of the company's industrial and business environment.




  • Improve internal working practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.




  • Be a member of a dedicated team of supply chain managers, ensuring outstanding supplier performance in terms of delivery and quality.




  • Work and collaborate with colleagues (UK and internationally) from various departments, procurement experts, technical and quality experts, and key suppliers (some travel will be required).




  • Participate in well-resourced training and development programs to enhance your procurement and quality knowledge.







My client are looking for the following:





  • Ideally, a degree-calibre Supply Chain professional with international working experience in technology companies.




  • Proven ability to improve supplier performance in terms of delivery and quality using appropriate tools and lean methodologies.




  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers, monitoring their performance and addressing supply chain risks.




  • Assess supply chain and supplier capabilities to meet the delivery profile (current and future).




  • Proficiency in creating and validating process flows, conducting lead time analysis, identifying capacity bottlenecks, and understanding yield, resources, and sub-tier mapping activities.




  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with techniques such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) to drive root cause analysis and improvement plans within the supply chain.




  • Conduct analysis and provide executive summaries to support decision-making.




  • Additional responsibilities may include contributing to departmental supply chain excellence initiatives.




  • Previous experience in supply chain management or as a Supplier Development Manager in the Aerospace, Defence, or Manufacturing sectors is desirable.
