Connect2Employment are excited to recruit a Supply Chain Planner on behalf on our client based in London. Our client, a leading name in the alcoholic beverage industry, is committed to providing exceptional service to its expanding customer base while efficiently managing inventory investments.
As a Supply Chain Planner, you will:
- Utilise system tools to monitor your product portfolio, ensuring replenishment commitments align with short and medium-term demand requirements. Consider various factors during the review, including stock levels, expected stock, demand forecasts, service targets, lead times, supplier reserves, and seasonal policies.
- Continuously evaluate and adjust the agreed forecast based on short-term trends, effectively communicating deviations to the Demand Planner.
- Regularly review inventory levels in line with stock plan objectives and KPIs set by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Monitor product availability and service levels, striving to meet agreed targets.
- Manage order review cycles, consolidation, frequency, and size to meet portfolio objectives in terms of availability, overall stock holding, cover, and shipping costs.
- Review suggested purchase orders, amending, approving, and releasing them as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales teams and the Demand Planner to offer guidance on potential new business or customer listing requests.
- Work closely with Sales teams to ensure specific customer requirements are met alongside routine operations.
- Collaborate with the Demand Planner and Supply Chain Manager to manage short-term supply issues through prioritised allocations.
- Incorporate new listings and ongoing demand changes into short-term replenishment activities.
- Develop seasonal stock build plans to mitigate peak trading periods and producer closures, sharing them with partners to support capacity planning.
- Continually assess expected arrivals vs. planned to communicate impending constraints or shortages promptly.
- Collaborate with Sales Teams, Brand Management, Key Account Task Force, and the Demand Planner to assist with tender response activities and provide advice on proposed products.
- Consider environmental impact and suggest less harmful approaches where possible.
- Maintain knowledge of processes related to other portfolio replenishment areas, including bulk bottling and own label.
Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:
- Strong understanding of replenishment/forecast planning processes preferably from the food/drinks industry.
- Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Able to work in an industry that sells alcoholic products.
- Excellent collaboration, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Team player with an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Passion for the product and a sense of urgency.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to work with all levels of management.
Experience & Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a demand and supply planning environment.
- Working knowledge of replenishment/forecast planning processes in the food/drinks industry.
- Experience with ERP and replenishment modelling software packages (e.g., Netstock & Navision).
- Intermediate Excel skills.
