Supply Chain Operations DirectorGloucestershire£110k + Car + PackageStrive Supply chain have been retained to work with an international supplier & hirer of commercial storage units . Our role is to source a manager of the highest calibre with proven experience in running multiple warehouse, transport operations using TQM / CI to drive through change & will have taken their teams on a collective journey & successfully delivered operational excellence & efficiency.Departmental / Indirect relationships to influence:Warehouse [2 UK & 1 small out-base in Spain]Transport operationsEngineering / maintenanceConsultants, designers, project managers and technical supportSales ForecastingCustomer serviceFinanceSummary of role:The core of this role is about analysis of the existing , complex operation ,improving operational efficiency & leading your teams at all levels.Mentor and motivate teams to achieve productivity and engagement.Create interdepartmental collaboration within all areas of the operations department, through excellent resource planning and ensure resource efficiencies are achieved when working in peaks and troughs of the hire business.Analyse current operational processes and performance, providing visibility of goals, progress and obstacles and recommending solutions for improvement where necessarySet strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivityWork with heads of departments in the development of financial and budgetary plansEvaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts as well as H&S complianceWork at Group level to assist in developing an ERP system fit for purpose to meet the demands of a growing and integrated businessReport monthly to the Directors through the Management Pack on performance, efficiencies and challengesIdeal Candidate?Will have run multiple warehouse & transport operations & be highly knowledgeable on all aspects – especially planning for increased volumesEvidence of establishing a culture of continuous improvement e.g. Lean, Kaizen, TQM or similarBeen involved in project management. Good evidence of process mapping & pulling people together.Exposure to fast moving, multi-SKU, time critical, complex operations.Will have root & branch knowledge of cost vs performanceStrong on all aspects of the financials inc setting & managing budgets, making commercial decisions Likewise presenting data / reports to main board.Proven experience of KPI analysis & improvement – this must include challenging poor performance & selling a route forwards to improve.Must have managed or worked cross functionally with other core areas inc purchasing, sales, customer services, main Board , H&S etcAble to combine being hands on & taking a step back when needed.This is a fantastic opportunity – we look forward to your application.
