£40,000
Hybrid – one day per week in Bromsgrove Office
Purpose of the Job
Day to day management of the operational purchasing and planning team, across multiple sites, in the UK and abroad. Ensuring support and development of the team to deliver the highest standards of customer focus in all aspects of the team's activity, while maximising the cost-effective use of production resources and minimising stock levels.
Ensuring clearly defined KPI's are delivered in line with the overall business strategy of Supply Chain Excellence. Ensuring seamless supply of material of the right quality, at the right time in the right quantities to the right place.
Expected to work on own initiative, the post holder will have a key role in delivering significant improvements in a creative and sustained manner to assist the business to meet its strategic growth plans. You will be point of escalation for the team, resolving key issues with internal and external stakeholders.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
To perpetuate a culture that encourages the use of initiative, individual and team responsibility and open communication. To ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork, leadership, and motivation across the operational purchasing function.
Lead the team on all aspects of inventory management ensuring that the right product is available at the right time whilst ensuring that the necessary stock turn objectives are met.
Define and manage clear KPI's (predictive where possible) to support the success of the team in line with the business strategy focusing on, but not limited to, overdue items, lead times and inventory levels.
Continuously drive efficiencies through the team's processes to meet increasingly higher standards of performance, including the company's commitment to high service levels for customers.
Qualifications required for the Job (minimum requirement)
Competent Microsoft Office - highly literate in Excel (required)
Lean/Six Sigma (desirable)
Experience required to do the job (minimum requirement)
5 years' people & performance management experience (required)
Experience with remote team management (required)
Functional knowledge- material management/logistics/manufacturing (required)
Multi-site planning (desirable)
Responsibility for People (numbers involved & personnel)
4 x Supply Co-ordinators
2 x Operational Planners
1 x Logistics/Warehousing planner
Responsibility for Costs (outline of type of decisions taken)
Responsible for all company purchase order spend
Responsible for adhering to planned logistics budget
Analytical Requirements (type of analysis work/information involved with frequency, whether straightforward or complex information)
Regular analysis on product usage, safety stock levels and supplier forecasts
Reviewing and creating gap analysis
Skills and abilities including key competencies
Strong people management skills- in person and remote
Confident to host meetings- in person and remote
High attention to detail
Working Conditions (location of job and type of conditions / job environment with frequency of operations)
Flexible hybrid role
Customer Visits (as required) moderately complex/routine contact occasionally sensitive.
Suppliers (as required) complex information, very sensitive contact.
