Astute is exclusively partnering with one of the UK's leaders in sustainable and compliant hazardous waste management services to support in the recruitment of an experienced Supply Chain Manager. This role will be focussed on the development of their current supply chain, looking at viable waste inputs, disposal options and site capacities in line with core business objectives.

The Supply Chain Manager role comes with a competitive salary of up to �45,000 dependant on experience as well as the opportunity to work remotely, supporting widely across the UK sites when needed. This position would suit someone with strong supply chain management experience with a keen interest in progressing within the environmental waste management industry.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Director of Technical Systems and Supply Chain you will be responsible for managing all supply chain functions. This will include:

  • Understanding, assessing, forecasting, maintaining, and developing the current supply chain for waste inputs, processing options, disposal routes and overall site capacities in line with overall business goals and safe, compliant, and profitable operations.
  • Create and maintain visibility and reporting structures for each site for the assessment and maximisation of overall stream value / business unit that enables the business to understand, assess and maximise the effectiveness of the value streams it offers.
  • Proactively support and embed a strong safety culture.
  • Continuous improvement by evaluating and optimising end to end process for supply chains.
  • Liaising with customers to closely understand their challenges, requirements, and opportunities.
  • Supply chain liaising to develop strategic suppliers through contract negotiation and management of relationships.

Professional qualifications

  • Degree qualifications or equivalent (CIPD Level 4) are beneficial (Chemical, Waste Management,
