As the Supply Chain Manager, you have direct accountability for improving plant productivity and efficiency by improving finished goods flows and securing raw material right quality and quantity at the right cost.

About the role:

You will define medium to long-term strategies to speed-up the production, loading, and delivery processes of finished goods. You will lead and oversee a team of 3 skilled staff members and managing a driver fleet. The role also entails setting an example in terms of personal, team, and plant safety and food safety standards, and collaborating closely with the production team to ensure a well-integrated Supply Chain plan leading to maximum plant uptime. With a budgetary responsibility of approximately £1.5m in annual raw material and logistics costs, you will be expected to exhibit strong financial controls, cost discipline, and value management in purchasing decisions.

Other duties will include:

  • Supply Chain strategy and execution: Develops 3- 5-year supply chain strategy for the site based on various inputs including strategic direction for the site, plant reliability data and opportunities to optimise logistic operations.
  • Plant reliability, planning and scheduling: Ensures that production plans (yearly, quarterly, weekly, and daily) are developed, updated, and communicated clearly.
  • Leadership and management: Ensures that supply chain team are clearly led based on-site management and direction, and that communication to them is exemplary.
  • Financial controls / Health, Safety and Food Safety / Continuous improvement
  • Fleet management: Serve as the site competent person for fleet management. Oversee various tasks including issuing vehicle loading sheets to the factory, providing drivers with necessary documents for deliveries, booking the fleet with appropriate service providers. Manage information flow in case of plan variations, maintaining fleet maintenance records in an orderly manner, overseeing driver overtime records, and ensuring compliance with "O" license and other relevant UK transport legislation.

About you:

To be our successful Supply Chain Manager you will need a bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration or supply chain management or alternatively certifications from Association for Supply Chain Management. Knowledge of supply chain planning principles and approaches. You should have experience in the Food and Beverage industry, including leadership of a supply chain team, implementation of supply chain philosophies, and conducting root cause analysis investigations. You will possess knowledge of industry standard processes, safety, quality, and environmental procedures. Proficiency in computer literacy with Microsoft Office and experience with supply chain resource planning (ERP) and management systems is required.

The Supply Chain Manager role is a full-time permanent position, working 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday.
