Supply and Delivery ControllerNHS AfC: Band 3Job overviewThere has never been a better time to join the Trust's Supply and Delivery Service as a Supply and Delivery Controller. We have two positions available - one full time permanent and the other a 12 month fixed term contract. Last November we finished the roll out of a new scanning system to manage the consumables both on site and out at station, so crews don't need to spend time ordering stocks from us. This is now done by us against agreed min/max stock levels. It's been going really well and saving crews time. We are now looking at refining processes, reducing stock holding across all sites.The role of the Supply and Delivery Controller is also a gateway to the organisation with opportunities to develop your career with us either within the Supply and Delivery Service or the wider Trust in both patient-facing and a variety of support roles.Main duties of the jobYou will play a critical role in supplying our front line staff with medical consumables, personal protection equipment and medicines as part of a fully managed stock replenishment service to stations. Based in Exeter, covering the south of the Trust. This position involves driving, stock checking, and stock ordering using a hand held scanning device so being able to work on your own initiative is essential for this role. There is also a physical element including the lifting of boxes, pushing of loaded cages and the movement of palatalised goods.Previous stock experience and knowledge is advantageous whilst driving experience, excellent planning and organisational skills and being a good communicator are essential for this position. Good IT skills would also be desirable. Role specific training will be provided.Working for our organisationWorking for us is an experience like no other.
