Supplier Quality Specialist

Position Responsibilities:Plans and conducts audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes and products to determine compliance with technical and contractual requirementsConducts special process investigations in support of rejected product, notification of escapements, notices of failure.Documents and reports audit and assessment resultsInspects or verifies products for compliance with requirements of various technologies and commoditiesPerforms conformity inspectionsEnsures supplier notifications of quality escapes are processed as required; evaluate supplier Root Cause Analysis and proposed corrective action plans, review and support of improvement activities.Assists with assessments of supplier capability and capacity to perform current or potential future workProvides supplier education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivityMonitors quality improvement initiatives at supplier; develops training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivitySupports in the selection of new suppliers or additional approved processes.Work with mentoring team members on SP education with regard to succession plan.Supports the team with technical aspects of special processes at assigned suppliers.Supports regulatory agency audits (FAA) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Prior audit and quality assessments experience in the aerospace industryWorking or have worked at a company or government agency providing parts or services to the aerospace industryWorking comprehension of the requirements of AS9100 and AS9102Working knowledge of D1-4426 and NADCAPPossess knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action methodologiesAbility to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of an organizationAbility and the technical skills to lead and perform source inspections on various types of hardware and assemblies.Fluent in English in spoken and written
