Supervising Social Worker

A Supervising Social Worker is required to join a fantastic independent fostering service in Lancaster, supporting young people and providing service to those involved within the fostering system.
Overview:

• Title: Supervising Social Worker
• Salary: Up to £41,000 depending upon experience
• Location: Lancaster
• Hours: Full time

The role:

• Recruit, assess and monitor the suitability and competence of foster carers.
• Support and supervision of foster carers.
• Find long or short-term fostering placements for children who come into care.
• To provide support, counselling, and therapeutic interventions to fostering families.
• To assist the foster carer in their task of providing care to a child in care.
• Achieve the best outcomes for our children and families and to sustain them in their communities.
• Undertaking statutory duties in accordance with National Fostering Standards and Regulations
• Have a good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.

The successful candidate:
What you will need to be a successful Supervising Social Worker

• SWE registered
• 2 years of fostering and or adoption experience
• Ability to be flexible as working practices can include occasional evening and weekend work.
• UK driver's licence and access to a vehicle
• Social work degree or an equivalent qualification
