View All Vacancies Campus and Facilities ManagerStaffordshire University LondonLocation: Staffordshire University LondonSalary: £41,795 to £47,853Per Annum - Full Time Permanent including London Weighting AllowanceRelease Date: Friday 19 April 2024Closing Date: Sunday 28 April 2024Reference: SUL44-24 Please note: this job is only available to current employees of the University About the role Reporting to the London Head of Campus Operations & Student Experience, the Campus & Facilities Manager will oversee and coordinate lead on the delivery, compliance and assurance of a range of University-wide services, including Campus engineering contract management, cleaning, waste management and recycling; environmental & sustainability services & logistics management and H&S ensuring that the London campus delivers the very best service levels and a strong engagement to cultural and behavioural change.The post holder will ensure that the services subcontracted are delivered at a high standard by leasing with the providers and following the directives from the University compliance department, Health and Safety, and Facilities based at the main campus.The post holder will oversee the operations of the Student cafe, ensuring alignment of policies, H&S requirements, and compliance with Her East and the local Authorities.The post holder will coordinate and oversee the logistics and delivery of internal and external Events.Main Responsibilities In conjunction with the Head of Campus Operations, lead, direct and be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day delivery, standards, monitoring, and review of a range of facilities management services, including housekeeping, pottering services, campus bookings and student cafe at the London campus.To support the Operations & Student Experience team in delivering the FM element on projects such as graduations, large events, and conferences.To oversee the operations of the Student Café at the London campus, ensuring alignment of policies, H&S requirements, and compliance with Here East and the Local Authorities. To also line-manage the permanent and casual staff at the London Student Café, providing support, goals, and feedback.In the absence of the Head of Operations, represent Staffordshire University in Here East monthly tenants meetings and circulate relevant information to London staff, Estates and Health and Safety Departments at SOT.To support the Head of Campus Operations, ensure that the Campus FM services are delivered cost-effectively, always providing the best value to the organization. This includes the effective and efficient management of FM contracts and event security requests.To arrange access for students, visitors, and members of staff, ensure the security of equipment, and coordinate the activations, distribution, and replacement of student and staff cards.Arrange service interruptions needed or requested by the central teams (DS and Networks), ensuring that all contingencies have been identified and covered supported by risk assessments, method statements and appropriate permit-to-work systems in conjunction with the Central Estates team based at SOT and Here East Estates Management.To develop, implement, undertake, monitor, and review quarterly reviews and audits of the service delivery of all FM services provided against specified requirements. Use the findings to drive continuous improvement in coordination with the Head of Compliance and the Estates team at SOT.To develop and implement annual, quarterly, and monthly deep cleaning programmes in conjunction with the cleaning provider, with due consideration to the built environment patterns of usage to ensure that premium standards of cleanliness of the internal and external areas are delivered.To work with the Head of Facilities, Security Operations Manager and Compliance Manager based at SOT, Here East Estates Management, Head of Health and Safety and the wider University to embed and assure continuous improvement and support the Head of Campus Operations on the lead the Department’s environmental and sustainability agendaEnsure effective communication systems for staff are in place, enabling local and corporate information to be shared.To oversee the Maintenance London budget and ensure that services are delivered in a cost-effective and efficient manner, providing best value to the organization at all times and be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and delivery of Service Level agreements (SLAs) where applicableTo be aware of and ensure adherence to all organizational policies and procedures and to ensure that service teams under the postholder’s control are informed of any changes or amendments that may affect their area of responsibility.To consider the welfare, education and training needs of all staff under the postholder’s responsibility relative to the service provided with reference to a well-balanced, versatile, flexible and qualified workforce.
