Bell is recruiting English Literature, Geography, Maths and Science Tutors to work at Tudor Hall school in Banbury, Oxfordshire on our Global Skills course for young learners this summer.
The Global Skills Programme is a CLIL course i.e. Content and Language Integrated Learning. Therefore, students will acquire and developsubject specific knowledgeas well as acquire target language knowledge andpracticereceptive and productive skills. For students, the course consists of15 hours per week of tuitionwith four core subjects:Math, Science, Geography and English Literaturetaught at an equivalent level to KS3 on the UK National Curriculum.
Students will be aged 11-14 and interested in studying standard lower secondary school topics in English. The students will have a pre-intermediate level of English, i.e. A2 Level of English Proficiency CEFR, so pre-teaching of subject specific vocabulary will be needed.
The course runs over a 6-week period from July 10 th
– August 20 th . Each course lasts 2 weeks and will have a different cohort of students, so lessons will be repeated across each course. However, every course will need to be linked to an overall theme. Each subject teacher will deliver 6 hours of lessons in their subject per course (3 hours of tuition per week).
About You Degree or Masters level qualified in English, Geography (or related Humanities subject), Science or Maths isessential whilst PGCE or CELTA qualification would be an advantage.
Experience:
Teaching experience at KS3 or KS4
Experience of teaching international students is advantageous.
