Open ended, full-time (35 hours per week)
We are looking for a full time, open-ended, Student Development Officer with experience in delivering tailored workshops or training to a wide range of groups to join the School of Social and Political Science.
The Opportunity:
You will lead the delivery of skills development and community building opportunities for students in the School of Social and Political Science (SPS).
You will work with colleagues and students to deliver tailored professional and academic skills workshops, subject-specific development activities and awards, and practical learning opportunities to bolster employability and augment the student experience.
This post is open ended available from August 2024. This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working
Your skills and attributes for success:
Either HNC/HND or equivalent qualifications plus typically a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience Or broad experience (min. 5 years), acquired through combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles
Experience of Higher Education
Experience delivering tailored workshops or training to a wide range of groups
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of colleagues and external stakeholders, including senior colleagues
