Structural Resident Engineer (contract)

�45.00-�50.00 per hour (outside IR35)
Our client is a multidisciplinary practice specialising in engineering, environmental and architectural services. Their integrated teams include scientists, economists, builders, analysts and artists - hence diversity being their greatest strength.
They are working on a major data centre in London and urgently need a structural resident engineer on a contract basis to report and liaise with the structural lead for the project during its final phases of the structural site works.
The role:
- Oversee and review site works, including inspections, ongoing pre-pour & post-pour and structural works
- Provide accurate written records of site inspections
- Liaise with main contractor and sub-contractors for inspection of structural works, witnessing, testing and snagging
- Review technical submissions
- Resolve design or coordination issues on site collaboratively with contractors
- Liaise with the design team and coordinate site inspections
About you:
- Degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent
- Membership of professional engineering body
- CSCS Cardholer
- Minimum of 5 years' previous resident engineer experience
- Some structural design skills
- Steel frame and concrete metal deck with in-situ experience
- Happy to be site based
- Able to review contractors' fabrication drawings in advance of inspection of completed works on site
- CSA Resident Engineer
- Previous experience with critical engineering facilities and/or data centres would be an advantage
The role is for a 40 hours week and will be for at least a 6 month contract.
