Job title: Structural Engineer (Senior Technical Advisor)Pay: £75,000 - £80,000Location: LondonO'Neill and Brennan have an immediate requirement for a Structural Engineer to work as a Senior Technical Advisor for a client who specialises in providing Technical Advisory Services to clients in the Real Estate/Construction industry. Your expert knowledge of Structural Engineering will allow you to provide guidance to their clients to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and to guide their design process.As an expert in Structural Engineering and a Senior Technical Advisor your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Leveraging your extensive onsite experience to provide valuable guidance and support to our major investors, asset team, and clients within the real estate industry.
* Do comprehensive due dilligence, including desktop reviews/peer reviews of relevant information, to ascertain the projects viability, identify risks ahead of time, and propose suitable solutions or steps that can be taken to mitigate the risks.
* Show a robust comprehension of structural engineering and the principles involved in building safety, then utilize this understanding to assess and improve the safety of properties within the Real Estate industry.
* Examine and evaluate the sufficiency and efficiency of on-site installation and remediation efforts, ensuring adherence to structural and building safety standards.
* Stay informed about current legislation and design guidelines concerning building safety, including a thorough grasp of the ramifications of the Building Safety Act.
* Collaborate with the internal teams and stakeholders in order to allow the smooth implementation of technical advice and mitigation measures.
* Produce detailed technical reports and documents and present these effectively to convey your findings, advice and progress to our clients.
* Act as a mentor to more junior members of the team in order to develop their skills and understanding
* Build and Maintain strong relationships with Stakeholders, regulatory bodies and relevant industry connections
* Assist in business development opportunities and networking by attending industry events in order to grow our client base and raise market awareness of our serviceThe successful Structural Engineering Advisor candidate must have:
* A bachelors degree in Structural Engineering. Any additional accreditations are a plus.
* At least 5 years experience working as a structural engineer within a relevant industry
* Previous experience of performing technical due diligence in order to understand the feasibility of the project and the potential risks involved
* Previous experience assessing the efficiency and compliance of installation and remediations work.
* In depth understanding of legislation and design practices related to fire and building safety including the Building Safety Act
* Strong communication and presentation skills that allow you to easily convey technical industry specific concepts to non-technical stakeholders
* Proficiency of relevant softwares
