Strategy and Operations Manager

This role will help shape the strategy, operations and culture of a high profile AI powered start-up within a multi-billion dollar, private equity backed business. Reporting to the Director of Digital Products, the Strategy and Operations Manager is a highly influential and visible role within the newly created Digital Product Group combining strategic planning, business management, and process improvement across a fast-moving start-up within a large organisation. The Strategy and Operations Manager is the Director of Digital Products’ partner in providing thought leadership across a variety of strategy and operational issues. They will own key strategic and operational topics from ideation through to delivery; support key executive communications preparations and ensure the smooth operational running of the team with the support of our Team Admin (dotted line reporting).
Core Responsibilities
Work with the Director of Digital Products to prioritize projects and initiatives
Lead strategy and operations special projects including identifying the problem, making recommendations and implementing solutions (e.g. customer service model, new market expansion)
Collaborate with other Directors (Sales and Marketing, Engineering and Design) to implement and drive change
Collaborate with the senior HR executives to help resolve top personnel issues
Monitor business processes and lead change management where necessary to improve process efficiency
Support executive communications by preparing draft written materials, including tracking and key KPIs
Spearhead managing miscellaneous administrative issues for the leadership group (e.g., preparation for external engagements or internal functions)
Act as the sounding board for the senior executives and counsel the senior executive to facilitate decision-making
Partner in preparing the company’s short-term and long-term strategic roadmap and enabling the management team to over-deliver on expected results
Manage key operational strategies related to overall goals and their strategic design and tactical implementation in order to keep projects on track and within budget
Key skills
The successful candidate will be a highly strategic and facilitative one that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active role in driving the business. The role will have the ability to operate at senior levels of the company, develop strategic analysis that sways decision makers, and build successful relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to help drive results. The candidate should have the following background and skills:
4+ years of prior experience in strategy or management consulting
Creativity in solving problems and generating innovative solutions
Strong Project Management skills: ability to drive multiple high profile projects, effective leverage all resources to drive results
Strong business acumen, financial skills, and analytical abilities, including strong Excel modeling skills
Well-honed written, verbal and creative communication skills, including ability to translate insight into content, create slide or written presentations (PowerPoint), create overall communication plans, and present to Board members.
Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; and/or accounting and payroll
Broad knowledge of processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and/or personnel management under labor contract(s) and personnel policy
Experience in coordinating diverse programs and functions for a very diverse department
