Procurement Heads' Industrial team is exclusively working with a well-respected global organisation which manufactures for the construction industry looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist.
The Sourcing Specialist will work with the Global Category Manager for the Motors and Drives category managing high-impact commodities. You will build relationships across the business through working closely with key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure value and availability for manufacturing.
AsStrategic Sourcing Specialistyou will be responsible for;
Leading sourcing activities and works collaboratively with category managers and sourcing specialists within the global category sourcing organisation.
Supporting the development of category specific strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Supporting the development of supplier strategy for the categories
Evaluating current supplier landscape, assesses supplier capacity, capability and competitiveness to develop and implement sustainable supplier strategy consistent with business needs.
Developing category specific cost models and cost driver visibility.
Leading cost reduction initiatives for the categories responsible for globally, conducting regular benchmarking of the categories to ensure cost competitiveness.
Participating and supporting new product development initiatives. Evaluates new suppliers and supplier capabilities to support go-to-market strategy.
Managing supplier performance; engages cross-functional business partners to drive supplier performance improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
Experience of procurement and category management in industrial/manufacturing sectors.
Prior sourcing and category management experience in a global sourcing setting.
Hands on experience with high impact commodities such as steel, aluminium, copper preferred
Hands on experience in sourcing electro-mechanical products, ideally electric motors preferred.
Hands-on experiences in developing and implementing best practices specific to cost management, supplier management and risk mitigation.
Successful track record of leading sourcing and supply chain projects in a cross-functional business settings.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems in an industrial manufacturing environment with sound knowledge of system based spend categorisation, system generated procurement specific reports.
