Job Title: Strategic Head of Service for Early Help

Location: Havering, London

Type: 3-Month Contract, Hybrid

Salary: �550/day

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Strategic Head of Service for Early Help to lead and direct initiatives aimed at positively impacting the lives of children and families in our community.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the work/practice to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families in Havering.
  • Provide strategic oversight and support to services including Early Help, Targeted Support, MASH, and Youth Justice.
  • Ensure early help services are responsive, dynamic, and effective in delivering universal and targeted services based on identified needs.
  • Strategically lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of integrated front door multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH), early help preventative and support services, targeted youth support services, specialist safeguarding, youth justice service, and Virtual School.
  • Collaborate with relevant agencies to identify and safeguard children at risk of harm, ensuring timely responses to their needs.
  • Uphold high standards of social work practice in line with the Children's Services systemic model, ensuring quality assessments for all children and families.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of Early Help preventative services, including volunteering and advocacy, children's center offerings, family group conferences, parenting services, and more.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within children's services, with a focus on early help and safeguarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families.
