You will work within a team, supervising and directing junior staff and deputising for Senior Staff Nurse and Sister in their absence.To be willing to provide care to women undergoing surgical or medical termination of pregnancy, including direct involvement with induction of the procedure.Internationally renowned for clinical excellence, The Portland Hospital is the No 1 private hospital in the UK, entirely dedicated to women and children. The Portland Hospital also has a large outpatient department for all areas of its clinical expertise, to facilitate continuous care or simpler procedures.Duties & Responsibilities:To demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actionsAssess, plan and deliver care to meet patient and family needsUndertake extended roles such as IV cannulation, phlebotomyContribute to research-based care and other practice development initiativesContribute to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedurePromote good communication channels amongst staff enhancing good team workTo maintain a safe environment for patients and staffTo deputise for senior staff in their absence, demonstrating leadership and managementSupervise and direct junior staff, promoting a learning environmentRespect and ensure patients privacy and confidentialityEnsure all patient charges are capturedChaperoning and assisting medical staffFully document all aspects of patient care and maintain accurate recordsProvide patients and families with information regarding care and management of their conditionMaintain stock levels of supplies/equipmentTo carry out nursing duties as requested by senior staffSkills & Experience:Registered Nurse Level 1NMC Registration and PREP requirementsCourse/experience relevant to specialist area desirablePhlebotomy and training desirableGood verbal and non verbal communication skillsWhy HCA UK?Originally founded over 50 years ago by Dr Thomas Frist, HCA has gone on to become one of the world’s leading healthcare providers.
