We are currently seeking to recruit a part time Staff Grade Ward Doctor to work with our CAMHS specialist eating disorder service. The post holder will work closely with our Consultant Psychiatrists and our large multi-disciplinary team and be committed to providing quality patient focussed care, comprehensive risk assessment and working to the highest standards. The role holder will work alongside the hospital's senior management team, be involved in the Clinical Governance and audit processes across the hospital and will help to deliver training and provide support for the other Ward Doctors on site.
The successful candidate will possess an MBBS qualification or equivalent and will be required to maintain full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). The role holder will be able to demonstrate evidence of foundation training and competencies (or equivalent) including experience of working within the field of psychiatry. Experience of working within an acute setting and of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The role holder will work closely with the unit’s multidisciplinary team to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric treatment programme based on the recovery model.
Essential and desirable criteria for this post:
Qualifications
MB BS or equivalent medical qualification (essential)
GMC registered with License to Practice (essential)
Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment (desirable)
Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management (desirable)
Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrist MRCPsych or equivalent (desirable)
Experience
Experience as a specialty doctor in inpatient Psychiatry or equivalentrole in NHS or Private sector (desirable)
Experience of Psychiatry at Core training level CT1 -3 or equivalent (desirable)
Knowledge and experience of current issues in psychiatry and remaining up to date with current practices
Knowledge and experience of clinical application of Mental Health Practices and Mental Health Act
Awareness of key legislations and guidelines such as safeguarding, MHA, MCA, NICE guidelines
Experience of leadership and management skills, audits, clinical governance, service and quality improvement
Other
Willing to participate in Priory Annual Appraisal and continuing professional development
Personal organisational and time management skills
Good team working skills
Letter and report writing skills
Maintain up to date professional standards at all times
