Openings: 1Post Date: Feb. 15, 2024 GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:Under the general supervision of the Building Equipment & Maintenance Manager or designee, the Sr. Facilities Specialist-Mechanic is responsible for the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, monitoring and operation of all building systems and equipment. Maintains records, installs, repairs, modifies and maintains mechanical systems and equipment.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform all routine preventative maintenance duties, and adhere to set timetables for their completions.Update preventive maintenance procedures for all assignmentsAssist with all minor repairs, modifications, testing and installation of all building systems and equipmentInvestigate tenant complaints and make the necessary repairsInstall, repair, modify, and maintain mechanical distribution equipment, basic plumbing and building/HVAC controlsPerform daily walkthroughs, record various data and fix problemsDetermine material and equipment required to complete work based on drawings, schematics, and specificationsFunctional supervision and instruction over trades people for assigned projects and tasks; ensures conformance with codes, rules and regulations and safety standardsMove furniture and equipmentResponsible for carpentry, painting, landscaping, snow removal and exterior maintenance for facilityAbility to be on-call during off shift hours/holidaysPerform other duties as required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Must possess required license for area of specialtyMinimum of 8 years experience in Facilities MaintenanceMust have lead/supervisory experience, as well as experience working with contractorsThorough knowledge of tools required to perform all repairs on major job componentsDemonstrated ability to read and work off mechanical, electrical and architectural plansProficient in MS Office (Work, Excel and Outlook)Ability to travel to off-site locationsSUPERVISION RECEIVED:Under the general supervision of the Building Equipment & Maintenance Manager or designeeSUPERVISION EXERCISED:Exercise functional supervision over trades people for assigned projects or tasksENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:May perform work in all Medical School facilities and is subject to possible exposure to chemicals, gases, electrical shock; may work in confined spaces on ladders.
