Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently looking for a SQL Developer to support a key client, based near Camden, in London, as they continue to undertake a major IT transformation project. This is a great opportunity as our client continues to embark on an exciting journey, which has seen a multi-million-pound budget approved to revamp all IT related products, platforms and solutions.Reporting to the Head of Business Solutions, as Lead SQL Developer your primarily focus is to analyse, design, develop, test, tune, and maintain new database software applications.THE BASICS:As the Lead SQL Developer it is vital that you have at least 7 years’ experience at this level; able to collaborate with developers, project managers and business analysts in conceptualising, designing and developing new database applications, modules and enhancements; whilst assisting in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements coupled with defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, providing time estimates for programming tasks and implementation plans.THE ESSENTIALS:Developers who can conduct research on emerging database and application development software products in support of procurement and development efforts. (e.g. SQL Server 2017, Azure SQL Database); develop technical documentation to define the system components and maintain a current awareness of technological developments and trends as it relates to databases, development methodologies and tools will be of interest. If you have an ability to work with a front-end design team and/or tech-leads to achieve functional requirements we’d like to hear from you.THE TECHNICAL SKILLS:If you have experience in a BI/Data Warehouse environment with involvement in design and architecture and experience developing ETL solutions utilizing SSIS including Requirement Gathering, Analysis, Design, Development and Implementation of Enterprise solutions, with excellent command and understanding of Dynamic and Advanced SQL queries in MS SQL Server 2012, and extensively experienced with SQL / T-SQL / SSIS / SSRS then you are likely to receive an immediate interview request.Excellent programming experience in writing Complex Stored Procedures, Queries, Views, User Defined Functions, Cursors and Common Table Expressions using T-SQL will hold you in good stead.Understanding Entity-Relationship/Multidimensional Data Modelling (Star schema, Snowflake schema), Data Warehouse Life Cycle and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and experience of Experience in Data Extraction, Transforming and Loading (ETL) between Homogenous and Heterogeneous System (Oracle preferred) using SQL tools and utilities (SSIS and Bulk Insert) is important.Other duties including, but not limited to:Experience with ER data modelling tools (Embarcadero ER/Studio & ErWin).Familiarity with SCRUM / Agile development methods.Ability to design, validate and execute software test plans.THE CONCLUSION:Lead SQL Developers living in (or commutable distance from) London, available to start a new contract who have also worked with tabular reports, matrix reports, parameterised using SQL server reporting services (SSRS), with experience in creating Jobs, Alerts, SQL Mail Agent and scheduling DTS Packages should APPLY TODAY.Please send your resume to Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists ASAP
