Hours: 8:45am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (Part-time days available for flexible cover)

Salary: Daily rate of pay �83.33 - �90.21

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and challenging behaviour in a Pupil Referral Unit located in Preston.

As a Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour within a very small class setting. You will work closely with experienced educators to provide tailored support, utilising your sports background to engage students and promote positive behaviour through physical activities and sports-related interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
  • Organise and lead sports activities and workshops to promote physical health and well-being.
  • Support pupils academically, helping them to achieve their learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to create and implement individualised education plans.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field.
  • Experience working with children or young adults, particularly those with SEMH and challenging behaviour, is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.
