They will be responsible for the management and delivery of a comprehensive and effective SLT service for children and young people (CYP) across Norfolk and Waveney. All are welcome to apply and our promise to you is a culture which prioritises staff engagement and development.Job descriptionJob responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Service for CYP ensuring that the services are effective, co-ordinated and responsive to the needs of the local population across the geographical area covered by Norfolk and Waveney. Operational accountability for the effective delivery of SLT pathways and work around the needs of CYP and their families and ensure all objectives and key performance indicators are met. Responsible for the management and monitoring of the physical and budgetary resources for SLT Service, meeting with management accountants as appropriate and holding authorised signatory status. In conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders, identify areas of service improvement for the local community, utilising Public Health data inform the CYP Service Director within the Trust in the monitoring of serious incidents, incidents and near misses and other learning opportunities or quality indicators, ensuring they are reported and responded to appropriately. Maintain risk management processes, controls assurance and complaints in a positive and sensitive way in accordance with Trust policy. Responsible for the strategic planning and policy of CYP Service within the Trusts Cambridgeshire & Norfolks Young Peoples Directorate. Responsible for supporting the strategic planning, policy, and practice of CYP SLT across the Trust via the establishment of a Trust wide community of practice. To represent the Trust on various multi-agency partnership groups and boards in relation to the SEND agenda and to disseminate information, ensuring that colleagues are kept up to date of developments. To actively participate and appropriately delegate participation for transformation projects and pieces of work focusing on integration. To participate in the emergency and contingency planning for the services. Responsibility for negotiation of service level agreements with other parties. Responsibility for provision of advice to commissioners. Responsibility for workforce planning. To contribute to the CYP Leadership Strategy and to work within its remit. Work together with all CYP Leads to ensure the CYP service delivered is equitable countywide, allowing adjustment for local variations. Ensure CYP vision, service goals and objectives are clearly articulated to staff. Develop a collective leadership model where all team members can lead dependent on skills and motivation. Demonstrate key leadership skills as identified in the NHS Leadership Framework. Degree in Speech and Language Therapy HCPC registration Evidence of continuous professional development and its application Post graduate level training/qualification in relevant clinical and/or management field or able to demonstrate equivalent experience to masters level

Recent NHS management experience at a senior level Knowledge of relevant legislation general NHS processes, policies and current strategies and performance framework Influencing, persuading and negotiating with senior internal and external stakeholders Working in a management position to include complex staffing issues, workforce planning, service development and project management Working as an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist Teaching and training own and other professions within and outside health settings Working and engaging with a variety of senior staff Integrated working and leadership both internally with other professional groups and externally across organisational boundaries
