We believe in compassion, dignity, inspiration, and innovation, and we're committed to making a positive impact in our community. Your Role:As a Specialist Palliative Care Physiotherapist at St. Luke’s, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive physiotherapy services to our adult patients across various settings, including the In Patient Centre (IPC), Therapy and Rehabilitation Centre, Ecclesall Road South, Outpatients, and community interventions.Your responsibilities will include:Identifying and assessing complex individual patient needs.Implementing appropriate interventions based on clinical experience and evidence-based practice.Maintaining independence and quality of life for patients.Demonstrating advanced communication and interpersonal skills to motivate patients and carers.Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated delivery of integrated patient care.Providing support, supervision, and guidance to therapy assistants and volunteers. What We’re Looking For:
We're seeking an experienced and dedicated individual who possesses the following attributes:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of post-qualifying experience.Experience in a Specialist Palliative Care or Healthcare setting.Experience working with patients experiencing breathlessness, weakness, and reduced mobility. Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of physiotherapy interventions for patients with Specialist Palliative Care needs.Understanding of the progression of illnesses and their impact on patients' physical function. Qualifications/Training: Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Special Interest group ACPOPC (Association of Physiotherapists in Oncology and Palliative care) preferred. Skills/Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Proficiency in clinical assessment and intervention planning.Excellent organizational and time management skills.
