We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step in their career progression into their first Band 6 role or an established Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Stroke and Neurosciences team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the multidisciplinary team, working with patients who have suffered strokes and neurological conditions. Your expertise will contribute to their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities, neurological conditions, and rehabilitation needs.Develop tailored treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic interventions.Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions to enhance patients' mobility, coordination, strength, and overall function.Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Nurses, to provide holistic care.Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to actively participate in the rehabilitation process.Main duties of the jobTo provide high quality occupational therapy interventions to a wide variety of patients including the advanced assessment and treatment of patients, provision of individual and group education and treatment, provision of assistive devices (orthotics) and equipment, minor structural home adaptations and provision of complex disability management and advocacy services within the neurosciences and stroke pathwayTo be an active member of the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Team covering the following areas:Neuro-Outlier ServiceAcute Stroke UnitAbout usBarts Health is one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, and one of Britain's leading healthcare providers.The Barts Health group of NHS hospitals is entering an exciting new era on our improvement journey to becoming an outstanding organisation with a world-class clinical reputation.
