Specialist Nurse - Obstetric High Dependency Unit The role of the Specialist Nurse is to work in partnership with the Midwife providing practical, social and emotional support to mothers and their families in our Obstetric High Dependency Unit.The post holder will be required to undertake Level 1 and 2 HDU care alongside the Midwifery and Obstetric Team as well as being responsible for the assessment, planning and provision of specialist nursing advice and care.They will provide health advice and information to mothers to support care of the mother and the newborn baby.Closing date: 26/05/2024Interview date: 03/06/2024Main duties of the jobYou will have the opportunity to be part of our Multidisciplinary Team and work alongside our Obstetric Medicine Team, Obstetricians, Anaesthetists and Midwives in a busy yet exciting work environment.Our ObstetricHDU currently manages level 1 and 2 women in the Antenatal and Postnatal period whorequire enhanced monitoring due to their complex medical and / or obstetric conditions.If you have not provided newborn care before you will be trained to undertake this competently.About usGuy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust comprises five of the UK's best known hospitals - Guy's, St Thomas', Evelina London Children's Hospital, Royal Brompton and Harefield - as well as community services in Lambeth and Southwark, all with a long history of high quality care, clinical excellence, research and innovation.We are a small team of highly specialised Midwives working within a busy Maternity unit.
