South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation TrustSouth Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust PharmacyService seeks to recruit a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to work within ourIntegrated Medicines Management service. The Pharmacy Service operates a sevenday clinical service and benefits from full electronic prescribing, electronicdecision support and care planning and automated dispensaries.Onappointment you will join one of the clinical teams to develop your specialistclinical practice, deliver Integrated Medicines Management at the bedside andcontribute to the ongoing training and supervision of Band 6 pharmacists. Youwill spend over 95% of your time on direct patient care which will includeclinical experience in admission and discharge management, consultant wardrounds and supervising and training staff including trainee pharmacist mentoring.You will support the Directorate Lead Pharmacist(s) for your team in deliveringand managing the IMM service in the Divisions of Medicine, Emergency Care,Surgery or Family Care. In addition you will have the opportunity to develop aspecialist area of practice, or contribute to an existing service, withattendance at clinics or multi-disciplinary team meetings and the utilisationof independent prescribing skills.Main duties of the jobYouwill be a registered pharmacist with post-registration experience in clinicalservices, will have excellent team-working skills and have completed at leasttwo cycles of revalidation with the GPhC with at least 60 academic credits ofpostgraduate or equivalent study. You will have a positive and flexibleapproach, clinically focussed practice, and the desire to develop specialistskills. We offer our staff outstanding benefits - Fitness Centre (SRH), libraries at both hospital sites, chaplaincy support and access to a Childcare Co-ordinator to help staff with childcare arrangements.Job responsibilitiesPLEASE REFER TO THE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DUTIES OF THE ROLE.To be responsible for the delivery of an agreed standard of specialist clinical care to patients to achieve safe, effective and economic use of medicines to a defined clinical area.To work with the Directorate Lead/Advanced Practitioner pharmacists to identify and actively support the development, provision and quality of new and existing clinical pharmacy services provided by the Trust in accordance with agreed department strategies.To undertake teaching and clinical supervision of less experienced pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists, technicians and students including pre-registration tutor (once eligible).May be required to act in the role of Responsible Pharmacist in a registered Pharmacy.Person SpecificationExperienceExtensive post-registration experience in clinical pharmacy practice.Experience of supervising staff.SkillsGood communication skills (verbal and written)Clinical Pharmacy skillsLeadership and motivational skillsAbility to deliver via a team and as an individual.Ability to turn theory into practice.QualificationsExtensive post registration experience in clinical pharmacy services.MPharm or equivalent GPhC registrationSuccessful completion of at least 60 credits of a higher education accredited post graduate clinical pharmacy programme or equivalent.Evidence of two completed cycles of CPD in line with the requirements of the GPhC.Eligible to undertake the GPhC approved prescribing qualificationHospital pharmacy practiceInterest in specialist area of pharmacyPublication of practice researchConference presentationExperience of specialist practice delivery 11.
