At Career Teachers we are recruiting for a special needs school in Leeds who currently require an additional learning support assistant to join their team starting as soon as possible. You will be working with students with additional learning needs such as Autism, ADHD, Complex Learning Needs, Downs Syndrome, Speech and Language difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

The school are extremely dedicated to ensuring that students receive every opportunity to progress and feel safe and valued in the classroom. You will be supporting learners in small groups as well as doing 1:1 work with those who require a more focused approach.

The ideal candidate for this role will be:

• Confident in your ability to manage to challenge behaviours and diffuse situations.
• Engaging and nurturing, able to keep the work interesting and accessible for students, taking into consideration their unique needs.
• Flexible and able to adapt to activities and learning.
• Able to communicate well and work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Calming and able to create a positive learning environment.
• Willing to commit to this role and give it their all to ensure that the students receive the education that they deserve.
• Experience and knowledgeable regarding SEND such as Autism.
