We are looking for Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work within alternative settings, supporting Primary aged pupils with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties between 9.30am-to 2.30pm Monday - Friday term time only. These provisions provide various educational settings for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who are outside of mainstream school for a variety of reasons including behaviour, medical, and complex needs.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant you will be involved in working with a particular child, and will also work alongside other support staff; helping to deliver tailored lessons that meet the specific needs of the students. You will actively support the student with academic development and also support them in meeting social and behavioural expectations.
We are looking for candidates with:
A Full driving license, business insurance and own transport
Experience of working with Special Needs
Confidence in working with students with challenging behaviour
A passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning
An understanding of how to establish positive working relationships
Ability to be a patient and positive role model
