Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Challenging Behaviour to join an esteemed educational institution in Hendon, London. This role involves providing one-on-one support primarily, catering to students in either Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2) settings.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Collaborate seamlessly with classroom educators to deliver targeted support tailored for students with challenging behaviour.

  • Employ evidence-based strategies and interventions to address the unique needs of each student, promoting positive behavioural outcomes.

  • Utilize de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to manage challenging situations effectively.

  • Develop and implement behavior management plans in collaboration with the SENCO and other professionals.

  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, prioritizing the social and emotional well-being of every student.

  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to parents, guardians, and stakeholders.



Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:




  • Kind, compassionate, patient, and empathetic towards students with challenging behaviour.

  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within KS1 or KS2.

  • Profound understanding of special educational needs, with specific expertise in managing challenging behaviour.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering seamless collaboration with teaching staff, parents, and stakeholders.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.



Requirements:




  • Relevant qualifications or training related to special educational needs, with a focus on managing challenging behavior.

  • Enhanced DBS Clearance on the Child Only Barred List.

  • Flexibility to work 1-1 primarily.
